Sustainability Science Research Program
Sustainable development is one of the most urgent issues facing human society. The goal of sustainability is to maintain a balance between economic growth, environmental and ecological stewardship, and social justice. Sustainable development convers a broad array of complex issues, and requires interdisciplinary research efforts in order to find solutions that will benefit society. Therefore, Academia Sinica has launched a new program, the Sustainability Science Research Project. This program will be carried out by researchers from the Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Humanity and Social Sciences divisions at Academia Sinica.
